Held in the Assembly Rooms in the heart of the town, Glastonbury is itself steeped in alchemical lore.  Overshadowed by the enigmatic Tor and Red and White Springs, Glastonbury was host to St. Dunstan (the patron saint of alchemists) and was also reputedly the site of a mysterious tomb containing a cipher book and a red powder that Edward Kelley later brought to John Dee.  This book was supposedly written by St. Dunstan and was later used to perform transmutations by Dee and Kelley in front of Emperor Rudolf II in Prague.
